Zoopla to create over 120 new highly skilled jobs in 2020

  • New roles include major focus on innovation and Product & Technology including dozens of specialised experts in software engineering, user experience and data analysis

  • Ambitious hiring plans set to take total workforce to over 750

  • New roles welcomed by London’s Deputy Mayor for Business, Rajesh Agrawal

Zoopla, the UK’s most comprehensive property destination, is set to hire 120 new employees in 2020 as part of ambitious plans to grow its business. The new roles will include dozens of highly skilled experts in product development, software engineering and data analysis, reflecting the company’s major focus on innovation and Product & Technology. Roles will also be created in teams throughout Zoopla including Marketing, Customer Success and other business support functions.

Commenting on the new roles Charlie Bryant, Zoopla CEO, said: “We have ambitious growth plans for 2020 and the creation of 120 new roles will be vital to us meeting our goals of reinvigorating the home buying process and providing an even better experience for agents. While there have no doubt been improvements since the launch of portals we know customer expectations rightly always increase. This is why we believe the process of buying, selling or renting a home is one that could still benefit from both innovation and a renewed focus on improving the customer experience. These new hires will bolster the strong teams of property experts we already have across the UK and will help us build a truly unique offer for home hunters and agents alike.”

“London is a global hub for tech talent and we are very excited to be growing our team here,” said Dave Wascha, Chief Technology Officer, Zoopla. “Product and Technology is a key focus for us in 2020 and this significant investment reflects this. We are looking for highly-skilled experts who are seeking a once-in-a-career opportunity to reimagine an entire industry. Zoopla is a dynamic, exciting and innovative place to work with technology at its heart and we look forward to welcoming our new colleagues in the months to come.”

Welcoming the news, London’s Deputy Mayor for Business, Rajesh Agrawal said: “We want our city to be the best place in the world to grow a business. The fact that Zoopla is expanding and creating these new roles – many of which will be based right here in the capital – is great news, and is further evidence that London is open for business.”

The new roles will primarily be based in Zoopla’s award-winning head office, a stone’s throw from Tower Bridge on the banks of the river Thames. Zoopla employees receive a competitive salary alongside a number of other benefits, including free breakfast and snacks, an in-office gym and a minimum of 25 days leave per year.

Founded in 2007, Zoopla is a successful property marketplace offering services to renters, buyers, sellers and landlords. Its website has around 55 million visits a month and 1.4 million unique users a month.

The company returned to private ownership in July 2018 after a purchase by a group led by global private equity firm Silver Lake. Since the purchase a new leadership team has been implementing a focused strategy investing substantially in talent, technology, marketing and sales to help Zoopla improve the service it offers consumers and to meet its ambitious growth plans.

We know that searching for a home is about more than just checking its price, location and features (important as all those things are).

What really matters is how it makes you feel.

We know what a home is really worth.

So let us help you find yours.
