A charming detached cottage situated in a prominent central location in the incredibly popular village of Box. This significant and historic cottage has been sympathetically restored and re vamped whilst retaining all the character a period home should contain. Beautifully restored by a local craftsman, the Sash windows are complemented by window seats, a fireplace with log burner, ceiling roses, cornicing, winding staircases and wood floors. As you open the wide wooden front door, you feel like you have stepped into another age, as you take in the light filled sitting room, with dual aspect sash windows, a window seat, central fireplace with log burner and traditional cupboards built around the fireplace. There is space enough for a couple of sofas and this room really does offer that cosy feel. The kitchen/breakfast room, despite having been recently re-fitted feels like it is still the original with pine handmade cupboards with worktop over, space for a washing machine and fridge/freezer. There is enough room for a table to sit and enjoy a coffee and bite to eat. Two rustic strip wood doors open to give access to 2 sets of stairs, one taking you up and the other down.

Heading downstairs to the lower floor first, again you will be surprised by the light flooding into this room . Originally the area where the animals were housed, this room is now beautifully presented as the perfect guest suite. An ensuite shower room is tucked away for convenience and this unique room also has a doorway out onto the street if you should want to re use this. All sorts of alternative uses could be made of this room, as a study, music room, hobby studio or simply an additional sitting room.

Upstairs to the main bedroom floor, and there is a lovely sunny and spacious main bedroom. Dual aspect once again via lovely sash windows, this room has plenty of space for a king size bed and wardrobes. The 2nd bedroom is a small double/excellent single room and again features sash windows which give views across the village towards the cricket pitch in the distance. Finally on this level a modern, period style bathroom is fitted with a roll top bath, Victorian style sanitaryware and the quirky shape offers a loo with a view!

Externally, there is a spacious, mostly walled, garden which consists of a generous level lawn, large patio area for seating and outdoor dining, all framed by borders full of cottage garden plants. A trellis screened area offers a large gravel driveway which can be accessed via double gates and has space for 2 cars. A really useful lockdown project has provided a superb potting and storage shed with power and potential to create an outdoors office space if desired. Although central, with the hub bub of the village around you, the garden is private and a lovely sun trap to enjoy a drink and is perfect for entertaining.

Enjoy the convenience of village living with a plethora of local amenities within walking distance, including shops, Cafe's, a sought after school, doctors surgery, chemist and recreational facilities including a large village hall, bowls club, playing fields and park. Enjoy many of the village community activities throughout the year from May Fetes through to the annual Box rocks charity music event at The Queens Head. An essential and arguably one of the best Indian restaurants for miles is found at The Bear and with a strong arts and music scene, there is sure to be something for everyone to enjoy. In addition there are miles of countryside walks, cycle ways and woods to walk the dog or get some fresh air with the kids. The Georgian city of Bath is located just 6 miles away and regular bus services run through the village to connect you very easily. In addition in the other direction are Corsham and Chippenham where a mainline rail connection will take you to London Paddington in just over an hour. Road access to the M4 is easy via J17 or J18 at Bath depending on your onward direction. From a convenience perspective coupled with a local village setting, I really am struggling to find fault with Box village.
