Brickworks Says
Along a tree-lined street close to all the action in Clapton, this home bursts with life and colour. Set on the lower ground floor of a grand house with a smart brick facade, the property is accessed via a short flight of steps down to a handsome front door. Inside, the current owners have made thoughtful decisions to enhance every corner. And there's off-street parking, too.
Bold shades are used to pleasing effect, from the green kitchen to the sunny yellow second bedroom and blush pink giving warmth to the main sleeping space. The living room combines a cosy corner for lounging with a dining spot that overlooks the sun-soaked terrace, where blossoming pots have created an oasis—it's an ideal spot for a morning coffee, BBQ with friends, or relaxing sundowner.
Kenninghall Road is just the ticket for those wanting to live in a lively, community-centred corner of London. Everything you need is here, from neighbourhood joints serving delicious flavours (all hail the Malaysian masterpiece Mambow) to the Blok fitness studio for working up a sweat. There are plenty of extracurricular activities, too, without having to leave the area, and you can get your fresh air fix at Hackney Downs or Abney Park.
The Owners Say
We have lived in Hackney for well over a decade and buying our first home here felt like an amazing privilege. What we were unprepared for was the wonderful sense of community we settled into. We regularly share drinks and trade BBQ foods over the fence with our neighbours.
The flat itself has such a sense of calm and the road feels very peaceful. The garden has been such a treat; it's very sheltered and feels much warmer, so none of our gardening attempts ever seem to fail! As soon as it's warm enough the back door is open all day to let the smell of the jasmine float in.
You only have to walk two minutes down the road to feel like you're in the centre of things; it's such a vibrant and happy place to live. We easily pass weeks where everything we've done has been within walking or cycling distance.
