Overview

East End is situated on a desirable street in Sheriff Hutton and enjoys an elevated position, it is a charming blend of character and contemporary style.

The current owner has refurbished and redecorated this property, retaining many period features creating a super home filled with oodles of character. It is beautifully decorated in a stunning style throughout; every wall is adorned with subtle Farrow and Ball tones complimented with newly fitted smart carpets. With attention to detail and all the finishing touches, any lucky buyer can simply move their furniture in and call it home!

This is a super home for first time buyers, investors or those looking for a holiday home close to the North Yorkshire Moors and City of York.

Step Inside

Open your smart painted door into an entrance hall. Head through to the right and into the sitting room, the window overlooking the front allows lots of natural light to flood in. Oozing with character the focal feature is the wood burning stove set on a stone hearth with exposed brick and a rustic built in timber sleeper. There is space for cosy sofas, we can imagine sitting in front of the fire watching a movie on a wintery night.

Continue through to the dining kitchen which has a country vibe and is bathed in natural light from the window and stable door overlooking the rear. The F & B painted base and wall mounted cupboards and drawers perfectly complements the solid wood worksurface and Belfast sink. Fitted with an electric oven, dishwasher and plumbing for a washing machine and space for a fridge/freezer. There is room for a dining table and chairs, an ideal space for chatting with friends while the chef rustles up supper.

There is also a useful walk-in cupboard for storing household bits and bobs! A stable door opens to the garden.

Upstairs

Take the stairs where you will find the Master bedroom with beamed ceiling and views overlooking the front. There is room for a king size, useful painted built in wardrobes with shelving giving space for additional bedroom furniture. The second bedroom has a pleasant outlook to the rear, and a beamed ceiling. The newly fitted shower room has a contemporary vibe, with underfloor heating, shower cubicle, smart grey vanity sink and wc.

Outside

The cottage enjoys an enclosed and private paved terrace, perfect for flowering pots and plants. This is a great area for alfresco dining and relaxing in the sunshine. There is a useful store with power, handy for a tumble dryer, or for keeping garden furniture in. There is a right of access through the back garden for the other three houses in the terrace.

Local Life In Sheriff Hutton

Situated on the edge of The Howardian Hills, Sheriff Hutton is a quintessential Yorkshire village offering idyllic living where neighbours are warm and welcoming and there is always something happening on the doorstep.

Steeped in history, the 14th Century castle built by John Neville later became home to the infamous Richard III. Today the spectacular ruins are the focal point of the village.
A hop skip and a jump away the Highwayman Inn where you will be greeted with a warm welcome, fine food, great beers and wine. Likewise, the Castle Inn is well worth a visit.
Quarmbys deli is at the heart of the village, I can highly recommend the latte and the food is fantastic.

The village also offers a village store, post office and a wine shop! There is a highly regarded Primary School. The village hall hosts numerous clubs and activities, including preschool toddle group, badminton, bowls and other sporting activities.

Sheriff Hutton has excellent transport links, close to the A64 as well as the A19 between York and Thirsk. There is a regular bus service going to York city centre and Monks Cross. Strensall is 4 miles away where there are many amenities, Tesco Extra, Chemist, Butchers and many more. For those wanting superstores, Monks Cross is close by.

Sheriff Hutton is surrounded by beautiful countryside but close to the city, the best of both worlds. We think it is a pretty great place to live.
